Wings of the Eagle to cease operations

August 2, 2017

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Baja Mission for Wings of the Eagle,

The Wings of the Eagle board expresses our deep gratitude to each and every one of you for your compassion and service to the children and families of Brechas del Mirador, near Ensenada, Mexico. Over the ten year history of Wings of the Eagle, your financial support has made such important contributions to the health and quality of life for many underserved and needy indigenous people in Mexico. Providing water, food, medical care and even educational opportunities for the indigenous people has allowed Pastor Frank and Detra to develop an intense bond of trust, and they are called by the indigenous “The People Who Love.” As a result, they view Frank and Detra as a huge resource for their physical and spiritual lives as Frank and Detra have poured out their own lives in a dry and needy land. This could not have been accomplished without your help and support. There have been many examples of success and we are grateful for the opportunity to have had such an impact on both the spiritual and physical lives of these people.

We would like to inform you of some changes that are taking place very soon. Carol and Rick will both be retired in August and Ted and Debbie Wheeler will retire in early 2018. We have all greatly appreciated the honor of being able to serve the less fortunate in our world, but now is the time for us to move aside. After ten years, Wings of the Eagle will be closing down operations at the end of August, 2017. We will send all remaining funds to Pastor Frank and Detra in Mexico on August 15; therefore any checks received after August 15 will be returned to the donor. We will also be sending out receipts for all donations for 2017. However, we want each of you to have the opportunity to continue to support the mission if you desire.

We want you to know that we respect your privacy! We will not share your name, address or other contact information with anyone without your permission.

If you desire to continue to support Pastor Frank and Detra’s ministry, you may send your checks to either of the following churches who have agreed to send the funds to Frank and Detra in Mexico. Both will provide receipts for your donations and both are 501c(3) tax deductible organizations.

• Harvest of Faith Church (www.harvestoffaith.com): Pastor Richard Chambliss is Detra’s uncle, this is her home church in Mississippi. They have supported the Mexico mission for many years and they wire funds to them every month. Please indicate on your check that it is for the “Baja, Mexico mission.”
